Review|Ten by Gretchen McNeil

Title: Ten Original Rating: Three and A Half Stars Genre: Suspense Thriller  Author: Gretchen McNeil  "Not everything needs to be said." A story about 10 high school kids who go to Henry Islands for a weekend to have the time of their lives..  Little did they know they would never come back..  I liked the writing style of the author. I could pretty much guess the plot still I felt excited enough to keep reading. "It wasn’t raining nearly as hard as it had been thirty minutes ago, and the wind was no longer attempting to wipe the island clean of all its inhabitants, flora and fauna alike. But Meg still felt as if she were battling the elements as she slowly climbed back up the wooden walkways toward White Rock House.." Ten by Gretchen McNeil was like reading And Then There Were None until the very last chapter the only difference being a Young Adult Suspense Thriller about 10 highschool kids.. Somewhat predictable still I almost go

Review | Two Can Keep A Secret by Karen M. McManus

Title: Two Can Keep A Secret Original Rating: Four Stars Genre: Crime Suspense Author: Karen M. McManus An engrossing adventure of sorts where you can't flip the pages fast enough and don't even suspect for a second who it actually was till the last chapter. One of my favorite genre Suspence Thrillers have something more than just good entertainment to offer. And I loved the fact this one kept me guessing. The female protagonist, Ellery Crocoran, is a huge fan of crime suspenses who has done her own research on the genre because her aunt, Sarah disappeared more than 20 years back.. It doesn't help the fact that Sarah was, her mother Sadie's, twin sister. Ellery being a twin herself can't get over the fact that how can one not talk about the disappearance of her own sister. She wants to know the secrets her mother is hiding. So when she comes to live with her Nana in the senior year of high school, she wants to find out the secrets of Echo Ridge, a sm

I thank Forever Yours, Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for the ARC. Also, the free ARC hasn't influenced my review at all.. It's a hot-as-lava read which has the potential to set the unmentionables on fire. It has the right mix of drama and plot moves at just the right pace. Used be him as a punching bag for years, she's been through hell and back but still he's still roaming free and that means, she is still in danger. Enters Thorn Ryder, Ex-Navy Seal and now a  member of the elite Night Eagle Security team, he'd do everything to make sure that she's protected. "But th

Pretty please 😭 Maybe Someday was the first ever book I ever read of Colleen Hoover and damn, does she has me hooked.. I'm like a addict chasing my next high and my drug is the books she writes which are mind-blowing in their simplicity yet they tend to touch a part of your heart.. "A life of mediocrity is a waste of life." The book starts with Sydney who has just broken up with her cheating boyfriend after catching him red-handed with her best friend.. Dayuummm, right?! Now she's not just heartbroken but on top of that, homeless.. Enters the very handsome Ridge Lawson with his crooked yet sexy nose. Ridge offers her a place to live in exchange of her writing lyrics for him(yes, he's a musician) as he is going through a block.. And we readers start

Review|Fool Me Once by Nicole Williams

Image
Title: Fool Me Once Original Rating: Four Stars Genre: Contemporary  Romance Author: Nicole Williams My second read by Nicole Williams and woosh, was it good. After the few angsty reads I've had these past days, I wanted something lovey-dovey minus all the drama and Fool Me Once was all that and more. It starts with Emma who meets Chase Lawson, her ex and a famous singer in her 10 year high school reunion. Chase left her all those years ago, chose his career and fame over her and hasn't looked back once in these past years. Then shows up at their high school reunion with an offer she can’t turn down. Six months. Seven figures. Yes, a Million Dollars and he gets a chance to clean up his reputation, while she gets the means to restore the old family farmhouse. It’s only for show—hold hands in public, kiss for the cameras—but boundaries blur behind closed doors. A tender love story for the ones who don't love extra drama just for the sake of it with a

Title: You'd Be Mine Original Rating: Four Stars Genre: Contemporary Romance Author: Erin Hahn Disclaimer : I received a free copy in exchange of an honest review. You'd Be Mine starts with Superstar Clay Coolidge who's gets in trouble in the middle of his music tour and the only way he can keep up his contract is if he convinces Annie Mathers, America’s sweetheart and heir to a country music legacy. Unfortunately, her parents died when she was a kid due to the pressure and expectations of fame and their toxic relationship. Alas, the girl is vary of following in her parents' footprints into the music industry.. “Can you imagine? They don’t have to sing and parade around onstage to be happy— to feel whole.” She looks back at me, her eyes wide and piercing. “But I do. My parents did, too. To the point that they died

Review|On The Same Page by Penelope Janu

Image
Title: On The Same Page Original Rating: Four Stars Genre: Contemporary Romance Author: Penelope Janu I received a free copy in exchange of an honest review. I am, in no way, related to Penelope Janu. On The Same Page is a light hearted Romance which is thought provoking in its true element. With protagonist Miles Franklin who is a lawyer by day and a historical romance writer by night. Delving in the story we come to know that her writing novels is a secret which only a few people know about because of her parents snobbish thinking about romance not being a good enough genre in literature.. Enters Lars Kristensen, the CEO of Iconic International, the company publishing where Miles’s prize-winning novel is going to be published. Lars is determined to meet the author and uncover her true identity. While Miles will do everything to hide the fact that she is actually the author Emma Browning. This romantic comedy is a great way to sit back and relax for a few hours of me-t

Review|The Drum That Beats Within Us

Image
"We are still Adam in his velvet cage, Eve still hungry for an answer. To understand the atom you must build a bomb; to understand life you must destroy it." Title : The Drum That Beats Within Us Original Rating: Four Stars Genre: Poetry Author: Mike Bond I received a free copy in exchange of an honest review. This review is in no way influenced by the ARC. A fabulous read by Mike Bond which was a poetic roller coaster ride in itself. The poet is effective in making us see things from his perspective and at times, seriously make us question certain stereotypes and believes that we live with. Prefacing the book is Bond's insightful essay on why poetry is an essential part of cognitive awareness, "how we find meaning in the incomprehensible, beautiful, tragic and sacred mystery of life." His poetry dances between reflections on the majesty of wilderness, the joys and sorrows of love, and passionate expressions of life's greatest existen
